I. Personal Information

First Name:Rune
Last Name: Fuchs
Alias(es): The One-Eyed Fox; 4th’s Night Vision
Gender: Female
Age: 47 (Appears 24)
Birthday: June 22
Sexuality: Heterosexual
Reiryoku Colour: Default Blue

II. Vandenreich Information

Rank: Major, If slot is still available (This is a slot from the announcement “Freebies for All!” , now in the archives, so I am unsure if this is still available). If not, Soldat
Squad: Fourth

III. Appearance

Height: 5’9”
Weight: 152lbs
Hair: Dark purple
Eyes: Light purple
Tattoo/scars: Her body is mostly devoid of scars or tattoos.  The eye patch she wears serves the purpose of protecting her left eye from sunlight, as it is hyper-sensitive to light.
General Appearance: Rune appears to be a well-built, athletic,  twenty-four-year-old female.  Her hair is a dark purple, falling just past her shoulders when not pulled into a braid or ponytail.  As for her face, Rune would be considered average; she is neither beautiful nor ugly.  She possesses both of her light purple eyes, but she wears an eye patch over her left eye.
Rune has no sense of style when it comes to how she dresses; only practicality influences what she wears.  When not outfitted in the Vandenreich uniform, her wardrobe consists of tank tops and jeans.  These allow for full range of motion throughout her body, as well as revealing her toned arms, though she seems to not realize this fact.

IV. Personality

Personality:  In public, Rune is a very organized and practical character.  She doesn’t speak often, but when she does, she is quick and to the point, not wasting her words or time.  This makes her appear uncaring in most perspectives. However, this assumption is incorrect.  She is actually quite caring and wishes to make people happy.  She just doesn’t know how to hold conversation without deeming it “unnecessary” or “Time-wasting”.
Like most of her kind, Rune could be classified as “Intelligent” and enjoys playing strategy games when she has the time.  However, she is not intelligent in the way most think of intelligence.  Rune was never and never will be booksmart.  She is intelligent in strategy and time management, among other things.  Though she isn’t as old as most, Rune still has some life experience, especially when it comes to turning a dead-end into an escape route.  This has always made her a valuable asset and even earned her the nickname “One-Eyed Fox,” because of her uncanny ability to turn a disadvantage into and advantage.
Truly, the best description of Rune is solitary until asked not to be.  Once her father died, she became very quiet and avoided people unless to challenge them, train with them, or was being ordered to interact.  Many have tried to change her back to her outgoing self, but their attempts never succeed. Rune enjoys being alone, or so it seems, and no one can change that but herself.
Likes:  Oftentimes, Rune can be found playing simple games such as solitaire or filling out crossword puzzles in her free time.  Rune also enjoys playing chess, especially with older Quincy, as a way to test her mental abilities.  When she plays her games, she almost always has a mug of strong black coffee next to her, as this has always been her favorite beverage.  Her favorite time to enjoy her coffee, however, is in the early morning, just before dawn, when there aren’t many people around.  Though she is a solitary person in most cases, Rune often enjoys social gatherings, but only when she is invited (she hates being a party crasher), which isn’t often.
Dislikes: Pointless things are Rune’s greatest pet-peeve.  As a result, her apartment is devoid of any décor that serves no purpose but aesthetics, such as paintings, photos, and the like.  She hates “fashion”, as that also serves no purpose but pleasing the eyes.  Anything that wastes time annoys Rune greatly, as she has always been a time-oriented person.  This includes long speeches and statements that waste as much breath as time.  The only exception to this is, of course, when she is alone in the mornings, in which she starts every morning mumbling and grumbling to herself, a habit she could never shake off in the early days; this part of her can also annoy her on bad days.  Finally, Rune has quite a lot of dislike pinned at hollows, as they took the life of both her mother and father, and the light from her left eye, though unlike most Quincy, she doesn’t have much hate for Shinigami.
Motivations: Rune’s greatest fear is also her greatest motivator. As a young child, she thought she had power, but she was wrong.  She had been unable to save her mother, though she thought she could.  The fear of feeling that feeling again drives her to become as strong as she can, to protect those that need protection, and to protect herself.
Loyalty also drives Rune’s footsteps, specifically, loyalty to the Quincy, and to the Vandenreich.  This loyalty is what drives her to fight the Shinigami, as she was born long after the war and has never witnessed a Shinigami kill a Quincy. Needless to say, if this loyalty was shaken, Rune would become a very different person.
Fears: The feeling of powerlessness haunts Rune’s nightmares, ever since what she refers to as “The Incident” happened the day before her birthday.  She lives in constant fear of being weakened to the point of immobilization and helplessness at the hands of an enemy.  And that is Rune’s only fear, because it encompasses all human fears; helplessness in death, vulnerability in darkness, the weakness is everywhere in Rune’s eyes.  So her only solution is to fight it by training.  But even in training, she has the fear of becoming incompetent, losing her skill, or inability to continue her strengthening constantly plaguing her.  Rune’s fear is all around her and can never be snuffed out.

V. Quincy Information

Quincy Cross Appearance:
Rune’s Quincy Cross is shaped the same as any other Quincy’s, a simple cross with an inner ring encircling a smaller cross etched into the metal.  However, the metal of her inner ring is sculpted to appear like a chain and is tinted a shadowy gray.  The inner cross is tinted a deep blue, and the base cross is the basic steel color of the metal.
Kojaku Appearance:
Appearing as a silvery recurve bow, Rune’s Kojaku is insignificant.  It appears to be the same steel as her cross, with a blue cross of chain links running the length of the bow.  The bowstring is the gray of the chain circle on Rune’s Quincy Cross.

“Ugh, I hate waking up at dawn,” Rune muttered, yawning, to no one in particular.  Rays that were too weak to be light but too strong to be the crescent moon crept through a window as she sat up.  Sliding her eyepatch from the top of her head and down over her left eye, the Quincy continued her grumbling soliloquy, “Dang light can’t make up its mind, and I don’t get time to be awake without this thing on.”   She sighed after adjusting her unbrushed hair and slipping gracefully out of bed.  “Why couldn’t I have been on duty this morning? Then I would have woken up before dawn, and thus had two free eyes.  At least for a moment,” She went on, still talking to no one, as no one was there.  She proceeded with her daily morning routine, get dressed, brush teeth, pull a comb through her hair, etcetera , etcetera.  “But, of course, I get night duty. Again.  Which means sleeping with this thing on during the day” Rune now spoke while looking at her reflection in a mirror.  She flattened a piece of hair that was sticking up like an antenna in the back of her head.    Then she smiled at the mirror, an easy smile, not forced.  “This is going to drive me crazy,” she said, turning away from her reflection and marching out of her room.
Outside, the halls were mostly empty, except for the occasional uniformed Quincy rushing to get to their post after waking up late.  Rune was used to this by now, as it was the same every time she was off-duty.  Everyone else was either asleep or working in the early morning hour, but Rune had never once slept past dawn, no matter if she was working that day or not.  This made her accustomed to silence and low amounts of daylight as she made her way down to the Die Weinerei to get a cup of coffee.
When she stepped into the bar, she quickly took in that no one other than her and a bar tender were there at the moment.  As usual.  She made her way towards a table in the back, passing the bar and nodding to the bartender, to take the seat tucked into a corner.  From there, she could watch anyone coming and going through the only customer entrance to the place.
Rune settled into the chair and took out a deck of cards, then shuffled them.  She laid out the cards to play Solitaire and began her game, glancing up every few seconds to check her surroundings.  As she was finishing up, the bartender set down a mug of black coffee, just the way she liked it.  She nodded her thanks and began another game.  The bartender walked away without speaking, back to his post behind the bar.  That was how they communicated, nods and actions; that’s how Rune almost always communicated to anyone.  She didn’t like speaking to anyone but herself, and when she did speak, she kept it short.  But people accepted that, so it stayed that way.
Before she knew it, the coffee was gone and Rune’s game was over again.  Dawn was over, and people were shuffling in for morning coffee and drinks.  No one approached Rune, and she made no attempts at conversation.  Soon, however, the whole place was full of off-duty Quincy, and her table was soon going to be the only one that wasn’t full.  By experience, she knew it wouldn’t stay that way for long; others would sit down, try to make conversation, before realizing she wouldn’t speak much.  Then there’d be awkwardness in the air until she got up and left.  She packed up her cards in preparation for the moment she’d have to leave.
It didn’t take too long for a young kid, probably just joining the Vandenreich, to sit down across from her.  Most times they waited at least sixty-two seconds after she packed up before sitting down.  This guy, however, took only twenty-nine seconds, a new record as far as Rune could remember.   “Mind if I sit down?” the guy said, but Rune was already standing up.  “Just take the table, I’m done,” she said quietly before exiting the bar to find a quieter place.
