General Appearance: Izumi is a short, lean Shinigami with a fair complex. Her hair is a light shade of grey, and her eyes are a deep shade of blood red. She wears a circlet with a red topaz resting in the centre on her forehead, but otherwise wears no jewellery. Izumi keeps her Zanpakutō, a Tanto, across the small of her back, with the hilt reaching out over her left side, as she is left handed. She is the only Shinigami captain who typically doesn't wear her captain's haori, only wearing it during meetings, announcements and official events. When only ever wears the typical Shinigami outfit beyond these times; a white shitagi, a black kosode, a black hakama, a white hakama-himo, white tabi, and waraji.

IV. Personality

Personality: Izumi is a very sweet, compassionate and generous soul. Since a young age, she was taught to care for those with less than her, to help the sick, the weak and the helpless. It was that drive her mother instilled in her that inspired Izumi to become a Shinigami, and to join the fourth Division. Ever since then, Izumi has spent most of her time helping people. When not providing medical care for fellow Shinigami, Izumi often spends her free time in the Rukongai district, helping treat the poor souls who cannot afford medical care. During her free time when she isn't caring for the sick and injured, Izumi is an avid musician, and enjoys playing both the Piano and the Guitar. She has a thing for classical music, and plays it often. Food wise, Izumi has an incredibly broad pallet, and will happily eat almost anything. That said, she particularly loves spicy food, and her favourite food is butter chicken. As a captain, Izumi is a very dedicated and involved leader. She often spends her time helping her squad members with their duties, and accepts anyone who wishes to join her squad regardless of talent or past, believing anyone who wants to join her division has all they need for her to make a great medic out of them.
Likes: Izumi is a philanthropist, and as such enjoys spending time with those she can help, typically her patients and younger, inexperienced members of her squad. She spends most of her free time comforting her patients and helping them with her issues, as well as training and spending time with her new recruits, teaching them the medical arts and simply talking and socialising. She is an avid musician, and loves playing her instruments, the Guitar and the Piano. Izumi loves cooking food of any sort, but especially her favourites, spicy foods such as curries, and especially her favourite, butter chicken on rice.
Dislikes: Izumi is an incredibly patient woman, who is incredibly tolerant. As such, she has almost no dislikes. There are almost no foods that she dislikes, except perhaps bananas, and she enjoys all forms of music and literature. That said, there are some things that anger her greatly. Being a healer and philanthropist by nature, Izumi is angered by people who harm the defenseless. As she has a motherly nature, she is incredibly defensive of small children, and will happily slaughter anyone who threatens the young. Even though she is a Shinigami, and a talented warrior, Izumi dislikes fighting, only doing so when she must. When she is forced to fight, however, she tends to use non-lethal tactics like binding spells, as she doesn't enjoy bloodshed.
Motivations: As she is a medic, Izumi is incredibly dedicated to helping others. She is strongly motivated to help the sick and the weak, and spends large amounts of her free time healing individuals who cannot afford help. She works passionately to improve the quality of life in the Rukongai district when she can, by providing free medical care and helping settle disputes, even though she isn't from the Rukongai relations squad. She is so passionate in this regard that she often sends training members of her squad to the poorer districts to treat injuries and illness as a training exercise.
Fears: Izumi is an experienced and stoic individual who has seen much in her life. Because of this, very few things phase her. However, she is a very compassionate and caring person, and as such often gets very attached to her patients and associates. Due to this, she is afraid of losing them, of her medical skills being adequate and one of her patients dying on her due to her own lack of skill, or of being too late to save one of her comrades. While it is not a full blown fear, Izumi gets very uncomfortable around rats and chickens.

Zanpakutō Personality: Izanami is the complete opposite of Izumi in terms of personality. Izumi is a very caring, nurturing and selfless soul who always seeks to help those around her and avoids combat at all costs. Izanami, however, is a very selfish soul, who does not feel compassion or mercy. He is bloodthirsty to his core, and always looks for a fight. Izanami considers Izumi weak for her compassion, and considers the job she holds as a healer pathetic, which is rather perplexing considering that the powers his release give are healing based.
Zanpakutō Appearance: Izanami is the polar opposite of Izumi in terms of almost every way possible, both mentally and physically. His clothes are identical, yet colour inverted. This means he typically wears a Shinigami uniform with inverted colours; a white kosode, a white hakarma, a black hakam-himo, black tabi and waraji.
