General Appearance: Kensei is a tall, muscular man with sharp features, short light-gray/silver hair with long front bangs which hang over his face and brown eyes. He has a tattoo of the number "69" on his chest; the "6" represents his last name, "Muguruma," which uses the kanji for "6" in it, while the "9" represents the 9th Division, which he used to be a member of. He wears a sleeveless shihakusho that was open on the front, exposing his chest and tattoo, and tied it with a rope belt. He also wears a sleeveless haori and a pair of fingerless black gloves that covered most of his forearms.

Personality: Kensei is a serious and decisive individual, though he is easily annoyed and is rather temperamental, often to a fault. He is greatly annoyed by immaturity, with joking and whimsical people angering him greatly. Any form of childish behaviour will also anger him greatly. His aggressive behaviour is particularly noticeable in combat, with him being incredibly bloodthirsty and hostile towards his enemies, regardless of their appearance or mental state. Despite his excessive levels of anger, Kensei is at times a caring individual, though his attempts at being kind are often offset by his aggression. Whenever he attempts to be kind or considerate, it tends to come across with a military drill sergeant feeling to it, with him ordering people to cheer up or to stop crying. This tends to come across even worse as the only time he tends to be that caring is around upset children. Given his rigid, drill master like personality, he tends to lead a very structured and organised lifestyle, keeping his routine and schedule constant. His leadership is the same way, as he tends to be very militaristic and official in his command. Kensei has taken quite well to modern culture, and is often rather fascinated by advances in the mortal realm. He tends to find their inventions fascinating, and he enjoys their food, musical and cultural advances greatly.
Likes: Kensei, despite being a soul several hundreds of years old raised in a culture heavily inspired by the Japanese way of life, has taken fondly to more modern, western cultural advancements. He enjoys more modern types of music, especially forms of heavy rock and metal. His favourite foods are Fish and Chips and Shepard's Pie, and he enjoys drinking strong black coffee with one sugar. Kensei is an incredibly ritualistic man, enjoying a strict and official way of live. As such, he likes keeping his daily routine stable, training, doing paperwork and socialising all at the same time every day.
Dislikes: Being that he is an individual with a reasonably large level of anger, there are many things that frustrate and anger Kensei. Immaturity and childish behaviour tend to anger him immensely, typically prompting a furious, though not hostile, response. Though having adopted large amounts of western culture, other sections of it frustrate and annoy him. Melodic rock in particular annoys him as it is a variation of his favourite genre he despises. Pop music and all forms of Techno also frustrate him. Any interference with his regular routine angers him greatly, as he enjoys living a rigid and structured life.
Motivations: Kensei, despite coming across as an angry and antisocial man, does have things he cares for and wants to protect. He is a dedicated captain, and is very loyal to that job. Being that the soldiers of the 11th division are the backbone of the Gotei 13's military might, he sees it as his duty to improve the combat prowess of the members of his squad, by force if necessary. In addition, he sees himself as having to be the strongest of the captains in order to live up to the reputation of his squad. Although he is rather antisocial and tends to hide his affection for those he is fond of, he is dedicated to protecting his friends and family, and is fiercy loyal to those he is close with.
Fears: Though before becoming captain of the eleventh Division Kensei was a member of the 9th Division, he is still very loyal to the mentality of his new squad, and is afraid of being too weak to live up to the name of the squad, of not being strong enough for his position. Kensei is also afraid of failing on his assignments, of his weakness resulting in either the failure of the mission or in either his death or those of one of his subordinates. Though the thought of dying does bother him, he is more afraid of dying in a dishonourable way, believing an honourable death is how all Shinigami should go.
